It is with a heavy heart that I bring you the news that Fitness Portal Petone will be closing its doors on the 26th of December 2026.

Eight years ago, The Fitness Portal Petone was created to be a safe space for people from all aspects of life. We brought people together and with that, we built a community. A community that filled my cup every day.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end. Our Petone location's lease is ending at the end of this year and after over a year of searching, we have not been able to find a new location that suits the uniqueness that Petone is known for, and which offers our members more rather than less.

So, we have made the decision to close the doors for Petone and consolidate everything into our gym in Tawa. 

One thing that has made this decision so hard for us, is our members. The people who make Petone what it is. We cherish each and every one of you.

Of course, we would love our Petone members to come with us to Fitness Portal Tawa. But we do understand that this is not feasible for everyone, 
- so all Petone memberships will be automatically cancelled on the final day for use of Petone, which is the 26th of December 2026.

If you would like to stay as a Tawa member and not have your membership cancelled, please let us know as soon as possible and we will switch you over to the Fitness Portal Tawa member base.

This has been an incredibly difficult decision to make, and we cannot thank you enough for being part of this journey. We opened the Petone gym with a dream of creating something different and I believe we succeeded.

Petone will never be forgotten. 
We will be taking some of Petone's original features out to Tawa, so that everyone remembers where we came from.
